‘Vaadkanchi Gaani’ enthrals Dombivli music lovers


Dombivli - Presenting a unique cultural programme called ‘Vaadkanchi Gaani”, a band of accomplished musicians and their journey from an instrument player to composer weaved a brilliant and soothing musical programme here at Sarvesh Hall on Saturday evening.

The programme, presented by ‘Vertical Notes’ and sponsored by ‘Jai Kajal’, included many melodious songs. Musical genres such as Abhangas, Bhavgeets, classical songs mesmerised a packed hall of audience. Renowned harmonium player and the Maharashtra Government best musician awardee, Anant Joshi, great granddaughter of Chitramaharshi Dadasaheb Phalke and state-level music composer contest winner, Girija Marathe, renowned Satar player Sunil Katti, shared their experiences of becoming music composers from musical instrument players.

Singers Kalyani Salunke and Chaitanya Kulkarni literally enthralled the audience with their melodious singing of songs, Abhangas and Bhavgeetas including “Krushna Vanmali…’, ‘Vishnumay jag…’, ‘Kadhi smarave tu majla…’, ‘Sanj ghanachya…’, ‘Sahaj hasuni pahtes…’, ‘Amrutachi fale amrutachi veli…’ etc.

With his highly entertaining and enlightening way, anchor Vighnesh Joshi smoothly steered the programme. 

The composers also presented a “Unity Song” sung by four budding singers.

A large number of music lovers from Dombivli attended the programme.
